This is a wonderful article for Discovery Kids Learning
Center and certainly a success for families in our community!
Family Tree Learning Center
Bathing baby dolls, making mud pies and digging in the sandbox are a few "messy play"
activities that young children love, and at Family Tree Learning Center in Sebring
(License # C10HI0044), they happen every day! Children look forward with excitement
to stepping out onto their playgrounds where they are welcomed by a variety of activities
that teachers have carefully prepared. After an extended outside play time they may be
soaked from head to toe, but clean, dry clothes await, along with many more play options
like adding color to pudding, playing in whipped cream, and Friday cooking. By providing
engaging, hands-on activities like these, teachers create endless learning possibilities.
Family Tree uses the Beyond Cribs and Rattles and Beyond Centers and Circle Time
curriculums. Director Jennifer Dean says that these child-centered curriculums require
a great deal of planning, organizing and hard work both for her and her staff, not to mention
a significant financial investment. But it's worth it. She says that behavior incidents have
dropped dramatically since they made these improvements, and parents share that their
children are excited to go to school. Seeing the smiles on little ones’ faces as they arrive
(and tears when they leave), and hearing them share about what they did at school are clear
signs that they are learning daily and having a LOT of fun! Call Director Jennifer Dean at
